Job Description

The Assistant Designer will assist both the Director of Design and Director of Production as needed. Will aid in all aspects of new style development. 

Responsibilities

• Assist in print and color research, print development, and print recoloring each season
• Update line sheets and design boards. Facilitate work flow as needed
• Assist in developing CAD illustrations for artwork and re-coloration as needed
• Create flat digital sketches for all linesheets, board, and tech packs
• Attend fittings and take fit notes for tech designer and team records. Update all team members of changes to styles
• Update and maintain seasonal development and sketch binders. Manage seasonal development tracking charts. Research new shapes and details. Sketch into new bodies and shapes
• Update ERP and other development tracking systems for all styles

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum two-year AAS or College degree in Design. 4 year program graduates preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of sustainable design practices is a plus
• Must have 1-2 years related internship or assistant designer experience
• Must have excellent working knowledge of CAD, Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication
• Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative
• Strong understanding of print and color is a must
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner
• Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter
