Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical and Graduate Life Sciences

Job Responsibilities and Duties: This position is a 12-month tenure-track pharmacology faculty position. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching pharmacology and related topics. Those individuals with interest in a teacher-scholar model of pharmacy education and research are also desired.
Essential Job Functions:
These consist of three domains: teaching, service and scholarship.
Teaching (55-65%) (16.5 - 19.5 load hours)
- Provide quality instruction in didactic courses in pharmacology both inside and outside the classroom.
- Collaborate with other faculty to develop the curriculum and teaching and administrative methods needed for effective delivery of that curriculum. This includes creating, developing and evaluating innovative teaching methods which prepare students for modern pharmacy practice.
- Serve as course coordinator, as assigned.
- Develop and teach elective courses, as appropriate.
- Continuously strive to incorporate and introduce timely topics and cutting-edge concepts in relevant areas.
- Be an exemplary professional role model for pharmacy students and colleagues.
Scholarship (15-25%)
- Lead and participate in the scholarship of discovery, application, integration and teaching in pharmacology services.
- Pursue fundable programs appropriate to the faculty member's discipline and interests.
- Disseminate the results of scholarly endeavors in appropriate forums, including publications, presentations and teaching.
- Mentor and collaborate with other scholars both inside and outside the institution, as appropriate.
Service (10-20%)
- Serve as a faculty mentor to pharmacy students.
- Participate actively on College and University committees.
- Serve as a faculty advisory to student organizations, if applicable.
- Serve as a mentor to new faculty and staff, as appropriate.
- Contribute meaningfully to departmental and College developmental and planning activities, such as retreats and workshops.
- Participate in local, state and national professional organizations and professional development activities.
- Participate in community service activities, as appropriate, for the faculty's area of practice or as determined by the College or University.
Secondary job functions:

Qualifications:
- A commitment to fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion among students, faculty, and staff.
- Doctor of Philosophy or terminal degree in pharmaceutical science with a focus on pharmacology.
- Understanding of current pharmacy education and practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, faculty, staff, administrators and other stakeholders.

- Ability to deliver course content in our basic science courses and integrated pharmacotherapy modules.
- Ability to provide effective feedback.

- Proficiency in spoken and written English.

- Expertise in more than one area of study or research, e.g., pharmacology, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics.

Work Schedule: Onsite classes are generally scheduled between 8 am and 5 pm. Some classes, laboratories, events, and/or meetings may be scheduled in the evening or on weekends.
