Job Description

Seattle-based, small environmental consulting company is seeking an experienced part-time bookkeeper in the Puget Sound Region of Washington State, with potential to grow into a full-time role. The position is primarily remote, with occasional office meetings in downtown Seattle.

The ideal candidate should be well-versed in accounting principles, including the accounting cycle, chart of accounts, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end & year-end closing processes, and financial statements. A minimum of 3+ years of bookkeeping experience is required.

Position Responsibilities

• Posting cash and credit card receipts; processing accounts payable for contractors.


• Performing weekly or bi-weekly check runs as needed.


• Maintaining records, entering data in QuickBooks Online, and generating reports and financial statements.


• Coordinating with payroll services for employee salary expenses and quarterly tax filings.


• Reconciling company credit card statements and travel expenses.


• Copying, scanning, and filing records systematically.


• Maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Understanding of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and retained earnings.


• At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience.


• Strong organizational and time-management skills.


• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.


• Discretion in handling sensitive information.


• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; familiarity with BQE CORE is a plus.

Additional Details

• Start date: by July 1, with immediate availability preferred.


• Part-time, 2-3 days per week.


• Location: Mostly virtual, occasional meetings in downtown Seattle.


• Seniority level: Mid-Senior level.
