Barnes Molding Solutions has an exciting career opportunity for a CNC Machinist for our Livonia, MI service center. Join a precision team where your skill at turning raw material into perfectly machined components makes all the difference. We specialize in custom, high precision parts Plastic Injection Molds. If you take pride in flawless setups, smooth changeovers, and holding tolerances down to ±.0005″, you'll feel right at home. This position requires a forward thinker with the knowledge and ability to manufacture precision parts for the Plastic Injection Industry. Responsibilities:

\n
• Load fixtures, tools, and programs; perform offsets and probe cycles
\n
• Swap tooling and fixtures between jobs with minimal downtime
\n
• Read blueprints/CAD drawings and make appropriate G code adjustments
\n
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM to ensure ±0.0005″ accuracy
\n
• Diagnose issues (tool wear, chatter, program errors) and implement fixes
\n

\n
• Log setup sheets, inspection records, and machine maintenance
\n
• Determine the appropriate tooling, work holding, and machining process needed to produce a high-quality metal part.
\n
• Produce high quality products.
\n
• Maintain a safe work environment.
\n
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
\n
• Work to verbal and written instructions.
\n
• Support an environment of growth and enthusiasm with other associates.
\n

Skills:

\n
• 5+ years' experience
\n
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
\n
• Knowledge of tooling and machining techniques
\n
• Know and understand "Quality at the source"
\n
• Understand and practice safe work
\n
• Meticulous attention to detail
\n
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
\n
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
\n
