About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Enterprise Health Information Management. The successful candidate will be the executive leader for all matters related to health information management operations, budget, human resources, staffing, regulation, education, training, and general administration. This role involves providing strategic leadership and oversight for all enterprise HIM programs and policy development to ensure high-quality services are available to those who rely on timely, accurate health information. The Executive Director will be responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating the management of patient health records, as well as developing and driving strategies to meet business and regulatory requirements for health information access, exchange, use, and disclosure processes. Candidates for this position should have an advanced degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Master's in health information management or systems, health administration, business, health law, or related areas. Registration with the American Health Information Management Association and certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator or Technician is strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years' of health information management experience, with at least five years in a complex, academic medical center or integrated health care delivery system, is required. The role demands a leader with superior interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as a proven track record in HIM service delivery and transformation. The Executive Director will also be responsible for managing a large team and budget, so experience in fiscal planning and management is essential.
