San Fernando Valley law practice seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal for an hourly contract position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work directly with principal regarding all aspects of legal practice
• Assist with the drafting, reviewing and editing of legal documents
• Organize and manage office, track tasks and timelines
• Prepare final versions of pleadings, discovery, motions, and contracts
• Litigation calendaring, meeting coordination and document tracking
• Light bookkeeping duties
  • Accurately track reimbursable expenses
  • Enter expense and accounts payable data into Quickbooks
  • Control and enforce billable time entries
  • Edit and generate invoices
  • Accounts receivable - account collect
  • Process and apply payments

​ QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be tech savvy!!! Need to be able to edit, assemble, and format documents in a timely manner.
• Experience using Google Calendar, Slack, Excel, Word, Gmail, Dropbox and DocuSign, Task management applications
• 3+ years of previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (paralegal certification a plus)
• Attracted to work a remote flexible, part-time schedule (approx. 15-20 hours per week)
• Solid understanding of CA civil litigation process
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Preference to someone in SoCal, ideally LA
